Taiwan trip 21 Feb - 26 Feb 2014 Summary

 This is my itinerary for the 6 day trip to Taiwan. Well its my first trip to an international country that is considered OVERSEA! All these while, I went to Singapore quite frequent, as in one year one time. And I find it too near to Malaysia to be considered oversea holiday. Yeap Singapore is a great country for a holiday if compared to Malaysia.. ;P

I will try to write down some of the tips and culture that I remember here too.

1st day: Arriving Taiwan(Taoyuan Internation Airport -> Kenting(South of Taiwan; beach)
Link: HERE

2nd day: Transfer from Kenting ->Shihlin night market
3rd day: Yangmingshan National Park
-> Beitou(hot spring area)
4th Day: Jiufen
-> Ximending, Ximen district -> Mala steamboat @Ximending -> Cat cafe
5th Day: Taipei zoo
-> Taipei 101
6th Day: Balik Malaysia :(

All these plans were done through online research and we went around ourselves instead of using tour. Taiwan/Taipei has good public transport that connects you to most of the places easily like Singapore and unlike Malaysia.. :P
Don't worry if you worry that you cant speak chinese/mandarin, the people there are really helpful. Even if they struggle to reply or understands you, you can see that there are trying their best to reply you in English. :)

I went there with my eldest sis using Malaysia Airlines. There is a promo one month prior to out departure(was actually waiting for Airasia for promo), and it cost us RM999 for to and fro. As it was our FIRST time to a cold country and Taiwan is still quite cold and has not completely shift to spring. Temperature was around 12-20 depending the time and location.
It definitely was a very good and interesting experience for the cold weather. Upon arriving Taoyuan airport early in the morning with the temperature of 12 degree, we went out and was so happy that the weather is really cold. We literally look a bit like an idiot to go out without any jacket or cold weather clothing. And I went out with my short pants. Its actually still bearable, not to the degree that you'll shake bcoz of too cold. As I do sweat easily and fat, I find the temperature was rather nice. The cold air, for some reason, feels fresh, clean and 'sharp'. Its a bit hard to explain through writing but my sis also agree with me with those comments. Other area was quite cool. And for those who sweat easily, one jacket is good enough or you can just wear a long sleeve and etc. Those who scare of cold, definitely advisable to ring jacket every now and then.

For their escalator, make sure you stand to your right when you are not in a hurry. The people here are more discipline and you'll need to line up prior to boarding to any MRTs here. You'll notice stickers on the floor.

For those who likes to take photo, Please pay attention upon entering buffets restaurants bcoz some restaurant do not allow/ like customers to take photo of the food, especially hotels.

That's just some of the things I can remember for now. If there is any inquiries/questions, just drop comments below and I will reply as soon as possible.
