New Year , New LIFE! & I am a barista!

Hi guys! Really sorry for not updating it for a long long long time............... :)
So I am currently having my 3 months holiday! and....................................................................
Well, I am now currently working in Starbucks... and it is quite a fun job actually but tiring... Will talk more about it ltr... :)

Well today is actually my OFF DAY! haha had work last night till this morning; around 1.50am...
so went to watch a movie just now at TGV, Sunway Pyramid. Watched The Tower (타워)...
if you really like Korean Dramas/Movies, highly recommend to watch this! Even saw a few ppl shed tears after the movie...
Make sure u watch it in a CINEMA... :)

And kinda fall in love with the OST song;  Nikisha Reyes-Pile - So Cold (Ben Cocks)..

Now, Lets talk bout my job... Of course I wont be revealing much though, because I am not sure to what extent I can, talking about my job.. So bare with me! :)

FYI, I came all the way from my hometown in Sarawak just to work at Starbucks in KL!
Well, basically, I just want the experience!
Day one was quite interesting actually, learning cleaning(well, newcomers always will hav to go through this!) and learn how to make 2 drinks...

Second day:
Well second day felt a little bit better... I make more drinks and cleaned up less dirty place.. haha what I really liked so far is the friendly colleagues that I am working with.. They will joke and talk about many things. And some time the workers will just go crazy and be very hyper..

You may ask if there is anything related to customers? Well, OF COURSE THERE is! I really do like some customers who are just really warm to you, like the way they asked for things, such as water or extra tissue paper. Well of course you will also hav the vice versa of a good and warm customers.. and I don’t think I wanna talk about that here. :D

Since Starbucks is an internationally recognized brand, therefore you will get different customers, like from other countries, like UK, Koreans, Japanese and others. And I do like that a lot, which is able to serve different customers.
And with one of the manager being very helpful and patient, I manage to do more drinks and help out a little bit more when there is a lot of customer.. and when suddenly there is a lot of customer, you really have to do things really fast.. And I mean, really fast that sometime you will panic and forget the measurements especially when you are really new!... And that manager also taught me how to look at the label of the cup to make a drink instead of memorizing the ingredients for each of the drinks. And it is seriously very helpful in making my drink. For now, I am able to make a Green Tea Latte, mocha and chocolate cream chip frap. And these are some of the most popular drinks for the frap(Ice blended) category.
Well, its almost all about attitude. Since its my first working experience, I definitely learned a lot of things, even if I had just started working for a mere 2 days. I reckon I will learned more in the next few months here.
Although it felt good to be able to serve more customer today, for some reason, my leg is really sore!!! It just is really tiring.. only my leg… not my body or what..
Well at least the next day is my OFF DAY! Gonna take some rest and giv my foot and leg some REST! That’s all for DAY 2!!! Cheers~~!

5th day:
I worked at the night shift.. so will need to work till the next morning around 2am.
During this day, can say I know how to make all the ice blended drinks already.. which is kinda cool!

The skin came off because of too fast closing the cupboard and the bruise bcoz of the whipped cream... need to tighten sth... zzz haiz so lame... of course you don't go around and 'show off' your injury unless you want people to call you a SISSY!

It was quite tiring cleaning up the whole store with my colleagues..  and in the middle of cleaning the store, OF ALL THE TIME, suddenly get stomach cramp... so 'terpaksa' 'tahan' till I fnish up the cleaning and go back home! HORRIBLE!

But well, at least I was lucky enough to get my OFF DAY today...

How do I feel about my job so far?
Well, honestly, I really love it a lot.. Especially when making the coffee. For some reason, I just dont feel that tired when making the coffee for the customers if compared to cleaning...and I really do love to make coffees for customers. However, currently, I still struggle to make coffee in a shorter amount of time especially when there is just a sudden increased in the number of customer.

I just hope I will make more coffees next time!

Well, I will be going to watch the Malaysia Badminton Open 2013!! Woot! Hope I can take pictures with the local and international badminton players! Wait for the picures!

So till then, Cheers! and Have a Blessed Happy 2013!!
